Take a moment to make a list of the most dangerous job you know.

Now why are those jobs dangerous?

What if I told you that being a disciple Of Jesus Christ was also a dangerous job, would agree or disagree and why?

Read the following verses and list the risks associated with being a disciple

2 Corinthians 11:23-29

Acts 6:8-15

Acts 7:54 – 8:3

Acts 12 1-11

Now that you have read these verses USE THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS for review fo what you have so far.

Why would people willingly put themselves through all of those risks?

Put yourselves in the first disciple’s sandals for a few moments to answer this next question.

What would your mindset be, what would be thinking if you were the first disciples? Think about how they must of felt before, during and after each of these events

Now that you have seen ah answered questions about the first disciples lets move to the present.

Why would someone today want to be a disciple?

Have you ever had a situation that tested your faith? How did you feel?

You can see from all you have read that the cost of discipleship is high. In some instances you will be laughed at, ridiculed, looked upon as being intolerant and in some cases even put to death just for preaching the Gospel and declaring you allegiance to Christ

Through every ordeal, through every trial, through every persecution remember these words of Jesus.

Read Matthew 5:10-11 where it says God will bless those who are persecuted for following Jesus

And in Romans 8:17 where it says that if we suffer now with Christ we will be glorified with Christ later.

Also in 1 Peter 3:17 where it talks about suffering for doing good

In the end Discipleship = Persecution = Glory in and with Christ

So if you are ready, The job is yours.
